The Cleansing Retreat, Aug 30th - Sept 1st, was a huge success. Thank
you to all who attended! Everyone had a fabulous time eating Certified
Organic food donated by Forstbauer Natural Food Farm and the Klippinstein
Farm. A big THANK YOU to them both for enriching our weekend. Participants
were happy to experience an increase in energy, flatter stomach's and
an overall positive time with cleansing. Two of us even went on a trail
run early one morning, and we still had lots of energy through out the
day! The beauty of the Polarity Purifying Cleanse, is it builds your body
while cleansing it safely. Another participant found some soreness in
her arm disappeared by the end of the weekend. We did Polarity Yoga and
Zenergy Exercises daily to assist in the healing process and train our
bodies to have a balanced supportive posture. It was great!
Special Announcement:
I am honoured to announce I was selected to be a co-author to a book coming
out this December called, Expert Women Who Speak, Speak Out! Vol. 2.
There were twelve authors selected through out Canada to participate.
We are all Professional Speakers sharing our areas of expertise. Some
of the other authors include Olympic athletes, and well recognized experts
in their fields. It is an exciting project to be a part of. Watch for
the launch of the book this winter!
Health-E Tip: Maximize
Your Nutrition
The
change of the seasons is the best time of the year to cleanse. Some of
the principles we worked with during the cleansing weekend are fabulous
habits to have in every day living. They maximize the amount of nutrients
you absorb from the foods you eat and eliminate waste.
Here are six of the principles we digested during the weekend retreat:
1. Chew your food completely
before you swallow it. Digestion begins
in the mouth. Saliva is created when food is chewed. It begins to break
the food down for absorption of nutrients.
2. Fully swallow your food and clean
your palate before putting more food in your mouth. This practice allows
your body time to enjoy the process of breaking down the food. Imagine
how hard the body works when food is rushed down as opposed to if it had
a moment to ingest the food between each bite.
3. Eat slowly and breathe. Again allow
your body time to nourish itself and indulge in the experience of feeding
itself.
4. Savour and taste the richness of your food.
Notice what you notice as the foods you eat touch your tongue and the
nutrition is absorbed from it.
5. Consciously notice your body is like a sponge
absorbing all the nutrition from your food.
6. Avoid drinking with your meals.
It dilutes your stomach acid that assists in breaking down your food;
therefore, your body is working harder than it has to.

Yummy
Recipe: Melt in
Your Mouth Swiss Chard
You
need:
- 1 bunch of swiss chard
- 1-2 cloves of garlic
- 1 drizzle of olive oil
- Sea salt
What to do:
- Chop swiss chard into slices and steam it until cooked. 15 minutes
or so is good, depending on how well you like it done.
- Grate, or press garlic while the swiss chard is steaming.
- Place the steamed swiss chard on a platter or plate. Sprinkle it with
fresh garlic. Follow it up with a drizzle of extra virgin cold pressed
olive oil.
Presto, voila, Melt in your mouth Swiss Chard! This is one of my favorite
snacks to munch on while I am working at my desk. Sometimes I skip the
garlic, too. Either way is delicious!
